Park Rapids, the county seat of Hubbard County, is located at the intersection of State Highway 34 and US Highway 71. Itasca State Park, the source of the Mississippi River, is 21 miles north of the city. Park Rapids is approximately 200 miles northwest of Minneapolis/St. Paul, 135 miles west of Duluth, and 85 miles east of Fargo, North Dakota.
